Vinyl Maintenance and Care
Vinyl floors are easy to maintain and are extremely resistant to stains and wear.
Frequently sweep, dust mop or vacuum your floor to remove loose dirt or debris
which can cause scratches.
Do not use soap-based detergents, abrasive cleaners, wax or "mop and shine"
products - they may leave a dull shine on your floor.
Never use a steam cleaner, scouring powder products or steel wool.
Wipe up spills with a damp cloth of water as soon as possible and thoroughly
dry with a clean cloth.
No-wax floors should be cleaned with an ammonia-based cleaner. Most manufacturers
make their own line of cleaning products.
Vinyl floors without no-wax finish should be cleaned the same way, but will also
require a vinyl floor finish as a protective coating applied several times a year.
Spot clean your floor as needed with a manufacturer-recommended cleaner.
Place area rugs or non-rubber backed floor mats in high-traffic areas to avoid
excess wear and tear.
